The mobile team was extremely honored to attend a workshop by Prof. Dr. Leon Mutesa.

Dr. Leon Mutesa is Professor of Human Genetics and Director of Center for Human Genetics.

The workshop was about to recognize sign and symptoms of children and adolescent with disabilities. It was about to know intervention needed to help children and adolescent with disability. And to know the proper follow-up required to reduce unnecessary suffering to children and adolescent with disability.

His important message:

A multidisciplinary approach is very important: •Family •Doctors, nurses •Teacher •Psychologist •Social workers

Societies or associations serving families or children with disabilities.

It is important

• To ensure an individual approach to child’s access to education, health, depending on the type and severity of disability.

• To educate children in special schools focusing on specific types of disability.

• To be integrated in regular schools among healthy children.

And these are exactly the main goals we want to achieve through the Bienfait project.

Murakoze cyane! Thanks a lot Dr. Leon for this very helpful and insightful presentation and your support!
