About Bienfait Rwanda

Bienfait Rwanda is a dedicated NGO working to improve health and well-being through physiotherapy, counseling, orthopedic support, and social impact programs to kids and youth with disabilities. As part of our commitment to community health, we are seeking a Nutritionist to support our mobile team in promoting healthy nutrition and disease prevention among children and adolescents with disabilities in Karongi District.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for children, families, and communities.
  • Ensure a smooth, efficient, and effective start and ongoing implementation of the nutrition components of the project, including linkages with other project components.
  • Ensure development of detailed implementation plans, collection of appropriate baseline, intermediate, end, and monitoring data as needed, clear process and impact indicators, and effective project monitoring and evaluation procedures to ensure accountability and drive improvements in these targeted areas.
  • Assess nutritional needs and provide tailored advice to improve health and prevent malnutrition.
  • Support the mobile healthcare team in screening and managing cases of malnutrition.
  • Collaborate with local health workers, schools, and community leaders to promote sustainable nutrition practices.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions on balanced diets, food security, and maternal-child nutrition.
  • Assist in developing educational materials and outreach strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of nutrition interventions and report on progress. Contribute to timely and accurate reporting to donors.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Dietetics or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience, preferably with responsibility for designing and managing nutrition-sensitive programs aimed at reducing malnutrition by improving the nutrition of women and children in poor rural households;
  • Experience in community-based nutrition programs, preferably in rural settings.
  • Strong knowledge of malnutrition prevention, maternal and child health, and food security.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams, educators, and community organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in data collection, monitoring, and reporting and knowledge of sign language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Karongi and neighboring districts.
